Future Leaders Programme

Client issue

Roffey Park was contracted on numerous occasions by their client to provide training for a ‘Future Leaders’ graduate programme, which not only gave participants new theoretical skills, but also opportunity to put those theories into practice in an interactive session.  Having worked with Roffey Park over several years on a vast range of their training events, RoleplayUK was well placed to provide actors with the experience and expertise to consistently deliver the appropriate level of challenge for these talented participants. 

Requirement

Roffey Park needed RoleplayUK to provide actors who had experience of improvising RealPlay scenarios (a real-life scenario defined by the participant themselves) as well as the ability to facilitate much of the session, including managing the feedback process and delivering qualitative feedback themselves.  The aim was to train participants to employ new structures, techniques and behaviours to enable them to assert their own needs within a highly pressurised environment.  The scenarios were to be based on real-life situations faced by the participants during their working day.  The actors would portray a person creating challenges within the working environment.

Solution

• We provided actors who all had extensive experience of working with RealPlay scenarios and who were also very familiar with the Roffey Park environment and methods of training
• The actors provided were also highly competent facilitators able to manage the feedback from observers and give insightful, strengths-focused feedback themselves, with some degree of coaching where required

Impact & Result

• Roffey Park was happy to receive the same high calibre of actor and delivery that they have come to expect over their years of working with RoleplayUK
• Roffey Park has received regular repeat business from the end client since the first event in 2009 and the sessions using RoleplayUK actors are always included in the ‘Future Leaders’ programme, as they are seen as an effective way of consolidating the theoretical training
• As a result Roffey Park were able to offer a one stop solution to their client, eliminating the need to involve any more suppliers
